Best Highlighter 2018 For Glowy Skin

Looking for the best highlighter for 2018? Whether you want your highlight to look on fleek and seen from outer space or just a natural, fresh-faced, subtle kinda of glow, we've got the highlighters for you.

I've always been a huge fan of highlighters, my makeup is not complete unless I dab on a bit of powder highlighter or liquid luminizer. It just gives your makeup that "extra glam" look.

Ever notice how some highlighters are more flattering than others? A lot of it has to do with your skin's undertones. My skin tone is very warm and yellow and I find highlighters with gold to be more flattering. If you have a cooler skin tone, look for highlighters that are on the cooler side of the spectrum.

Also experiment with application; I've noticed some highlighters look different when applied with a fan brush vs my 187 stipple brush. Pro tip: If you want to look super "extra", spray a bit of MAC Fix Plus on your brush and your will glow like you've never glowed before.

Here are my top picks for the best highlighters for 2018.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector In Opal

One of my favorite highlighters ever; it's a gorgeous beigy peachy color that isn't overly cool or warm making it suitable for both warm and cooler skin tones. It gives off a very refined and subtle glow which isn't over the top. If you want a more dewier look, opt for the Becca Shimmer Liquid Skin Perfector which is equally gorgeous.

Nars Albatross

Nars Albatross is a super finely milled highlighter that gives skin a gorgeous warm glow. I would describe it as a "candle lit glow" as it makes your skin look flawless. The effects are very subtle. You also get a ton of product making this an excellent value.

Maybelline Master Chrome In Molten Gold

One of the best drugstore highlighters around if you're looking for a warm golden highlighter that will leave you looking super glowy and sunkissed. The only draw back is the packaging which is not luxe but the price is hard to beat.

The Balm Lou Manizer

This is a very warm and golden highlighter that is great for medium to darker skin tones. This champagne highlighter is super pigmented so a little goes a long way. Perfect for accenting the cheekbones or to add an extra "pop" in the brow bone area. The only draw back is that it's super soft and can break easily.

Nars Illuminator Copacabana

If you want that J-lo dewy look this is the highlighter you want; it's suited for those with neutral and cooler undertones. It's not as flattering on my super warm skin but if you are on the cooler side this will make you literally glow. The tub is huge and you get a lot of product for the price.

Becca Jaclyn Hill Skin Perfector Champagne Pop

This is a gorgeous peachy golden highlighter that is super flattering on warmer skin tones. It's one of Becca's most hyped up highlighters and a collaboration with famous beauty Youtube personality Jaclyn Hill.  It's a very intense glow and will give you that "Instagram glow". A little goes a long way and this can be layered.

Nars Orgasm Illuminator

This is a lovely peachy highlighter that is extremely subtle and natural looking without any glitter. You can check out my in-depth Nars Orgasm illuminator review with swatches here.  It's flattering on both warm and cooler skin tones and mimics the look of youthful skin. I recommend patting this on your skin after foundation with your fingers for gorgeous glow. An excellent value as the tub is huge and should last for a while.

Benefit High Beam

This popular highlighter from Benefit has been around for a long time with a cult-following. It's has a light pink under tone making it ideal for those with cooler and neutral skin tones. I have very warm skin but still find this super flattering as an inner eye highlighter. It's a liquid lighter which gives it a more dewy finish compared with a powder.

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder

This is a sophisticated and subtle highlighter that gives skin luminescence without being over the top or making your pores look bigger. It makes skin look "lit from within" but it won't give you that over-the-top "Instagram glow". The color is a golden/beige nude that leans more pink.

Benefit Watts Up

A gorgeous cream highlighter in a pearly champagne/nude color that is suitable for fair and medium skin tones. It gives skin a more natural and subtle dewy glow that isn't over the top or super shimmery.
