Anastasia Dipbrow Review
Anastasia Dipbrow is a game changer when it comes to eyebrows. I've said it before "Brows can make or break your face" and I still feel that it's true. Brows really do frame your face and your eyes and when they are off it throws everything off. Before dipbrow was introduced most people were using powders or pencils to fill in their brows. Some people were even using their MAC fluidlines to fill out their brows and browdip filled the void of a lack of quality brow gel with strong staying power.
I have very sparse brows and tried numerous brow products throughout the decades from pencils to browders. Anastasia Dipbrow is one of my favorites. Read my Anastasia Dipbrow review to find out why.
Below is a swatch of Anastasia Dipbrow in Medium on my arm taken in natural light.
The problem with many brown brow products is that they often are too warm and have a reddish tint in the sunlight. This can be an problem if your hair color is naturally black. Personally I prefer a brow color without any overly warm tones.
I have black hair with blonde highlights and Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown is a perfect match for me. Medium Brown is a true neutral brown without any warm hues or red tones, which I love.
Anastasia Dipbrow's formula is super smooth and slick and just glides on your skin. If you're a beginner it may be a bit too smooth actually and it will take some to get used to applying this. I have used a gel brow product before (MUFE Aqua Brows) and it still took me some time to get used to dipbrow. After awhile the product dries up a bit as I prefer as that makes it easier to apply.
Anastasia Dipbrow is a gel formula and is best applied with a slanted angled brush. You will need to purchase a brush since this product does not come with one. My favorite brushes for applying this product is Anastasia Beverly Brush #12 which was designed specifically to work with Dipbrow. It has a spoolie on the other hand which is a must-have to help blend the product out, especially towards the front of the brows for a more natural look. I have also used it with the MAC 266 small angles brush and MAC's 208 brush.
This product allows me to have the look of full brows without worrying that they are going to fade off or sweat off during the middle of the day. Having my brows in place makes me look immediately better.
The wear time for Anastasia Dipbrow is phenomenal; it lasts all day long even through the gym if you are doing light activity. Don't expect it to last through Bikram yoga or if you are going to be sweating profusely.
Anastasia Dipbrow is packaged in a clear glass jar with the Anastasia of Beverly Hills logo displayed prominently on the cap. The jar bottle makes it very convenient to dip in your brush.
One issue with Anastasia dipbrow's packaging is that the product continuously gets exposed to air and can dry out over time. You also need to take extra care to close the jar extra tight in order to prevent drying out.
More affordable dupes for Anastasia Dipbrow include NYX Tame & Frame, Milani Stay Put Brow Color, Maybelline 24 hr Color Tattoo and ELF Lock On Liner & Brow Cream.
The value for Anastasia Dipbrow is quite good as a jar lasts me practically forever. I think I've had mine for over a year and haven't used even half yet.
Pros & Cons
Pros for Anastasia Dip Brow include the expansive color selection, long wearing formula and the fact that you get a ton of product for the price. I've used tons of brow products over the course of more than two decades and dipbrow is by far one of my favorites. The only con is that it's a bit pricey.
